Love You Valentine Easel Card

The new semi-monthly challenge at the Crafter's Café will be open on February 1, 2018. This is my DT card for the challenge blog. The image was provided by My Stitch Back in Twine.
I downloaded and resized the image then colored it using Copic alcohol markers. The card was assembled using a little guess work because I wanted to use two hearts of equal size and the tutorials I found were three hearts in descending sizes. The card flattens to fit perfectly into a standard business envelope.

Please visit My Stitch Back in Twine for some lovely digital images and join in the challenges at the Crafter's Café Challenge Blog.

A Toad or Prince Charming?

02/09/2018 Update: Favorite of the Week at Splitcoast Stampers.

This cute digital Valentine image, "Queen of Hearts" from the Eleanor and Pickles Collection by Lacy Sunshine, was selected for the February Brown Sugar Monthly Challenge #255 . I downloaded and colored it with Copic alcohol markers and then reduced it with my printer. I found it simpler to color using a larger image.

The image was die cut, the sentiment stamped and the panels were adhered to the card base. The pearls were added. The inside of the card was lined with white cardstock and decorated with a few small stamped hearts.

Brown Sugar Challenge #255 starts on February 2, 2018 and runs for one month. We would love for you to join us with your stylish cards and paper crafting - you could win a prize!

This card is also being submitted to:

1. Three Amigos January Monthly Challenge #10 "Anything Goes"

2. Happy Little Stampers Monthly Challenge "Anything Goes with Dies"

You Are So Loved

The Color Dare Challenge #277 is a color challenge with Tic-Tac-Toe as a twist. I am making valentines for a few family members so decided to proceed with that although there are no pinks or reds in the color choices.
A panel of patterned paper was adhered to a black card base. A panel of cardstock was lightly stamped, and along with another small panel, was torn across the bottom edge and adhered to the card. The punched flowers were covered with Versamark ink and heat embossed with clear powder for a shiny finish. The flowers were adhered with foam tape and decorated with gray pearls. The inside of the card was lined with a panel of white cardstock and heat embossed punched flowers.
Here is the Tic-Tac-Toe grid for Challenge 277. I used more than one direction but was inspired by the center horizontal row: Fern, White Daisy, Charcoal.  I added optional colors of Black, Glacier and Heather.

Please join us at Color Dare for this new biweekly challenge beginning Friday, January 26.

Awesome Girl!

The image for the Crafter's Café Challenge #188 reminded me of my granddaughter, Brooke, who has her black belt in Tae Kwon Do, but is still a girly-girl. It is called Karate Girl and can be obtained at Polkadoodles.
I colored the image with Copic alcohol markers to resemble Brooke. The theme includes using "Lots of Bling" so I added the glitter paper for headband and colored the pearls for her hair. I also used Wink of Stella (clear) on her hair and on the shoes in the background but it does not photograph well.

The image was fussy cut then adhered to black cardstock and outline cut. The image was adhered to the card using foam tape. The layers are a white cardstock base, then a layer of black cardstock, then the patterned paper. The lacy frame was die cut. The sentiment was die cut three times from different cardstock and adhered in layers. The inside was decorated with a strip of the glitter paper to coordinate with the headband.
Join us at the Crafter's Café Challenge Blog where our challenges are semi-monthly. This challenge begins on January 15, 2018. We offer inspiration with a wide variety of images and card styles.

St. Valentine's Day

This card was made for a family member and was inspired by Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge #275. This is the first card I have made since becoming a member of the Design Team. I won a stamp set from a challenge in the UK and wanted to use two of the flowers and the leaves from that set.
Please consider joining in our challenges. They are posted weekly but each one runs for two weeks. We offer plenty of inspiration, a wide variety of color options and there is even a monthly prize!
This challenge's colors are Bashful, Fern and Heather with the option of adding Gold. I used white as my neutral choice. The flowers were heat embossed in white and the sentiment was stamped in Charcoal ink (because I don't have the Heather ink yet) onto a trimmed down rectangle with die cut scalloped edges. The panel with the sentiment was adhered using foam tape. The inside was decorated with the same roses only in Bashful ink rather than white embossing powder.

1. Paper Smooches January "Anything Goes" Challenge

It's a Party!

As a Brown Sugar Challenge Design Team member I was given a Rick St. Dennis image to download, color and turn into a birthday card. I thought it looked like a New Year design so I decided to make a card for a party -  an 18th birthday or to celebrate 2018.
The image was colored with Copic markers, fussy cut, then backed with black cardstock and fussy cut again. The earrings are black beads with silver sequins. The word "Party" and the streamers were die cut. The elements and glitter paper were assembled on a black card base. The inside was lined with white cardstock and decorated with a die cut streamer.
Please join us at the monthly Brown Sugar Challenge #274, which starts on January 5, 2018. The theme is "Birthday". The Top Three will be selected by the Design Team and a random winner will be chosen to receive a prize.

In addition, I am submitting my card to the following challenge:
