Sending Hugs

Join us at Color My Heart Color Dare #467 for a "Color Trio" challenge. This is a biweekly challenge that runs through Thursday evening, November 4, 2021. There are three required colors - Sundance, Papaya, and Sage. Black, white, and silver metallic are free colors. No other colors may be included. As long as your colors are a close match to the color block below, you may use any product.

Desiring a simple card, I masked off a 3/4" margin along the left side and lower edge of a white panel then brushed on yellow ink. I die-cut the flower from Papaya cardstock and adhered it direct to paper. The leaf was a leftover die-cut from my stash. The white panel was added to a green mat and then to a white card base. The sentiment was stamped, matted, and added with foam tape and a few pearls were added. The inside was decorated with a small die-cut flower in Papaya.

Visit the
Challenge #467 Blog for guidelines and inspiration to play along. Our biweekly challenges begin every Friday morning so there is always an active challenge.

Give Thanks

Try Stampin' on Tuesday Challenge #529 is up on the challenge blog. This biweekly challenge will end on Sunday afternoon, October 31, 2021. This is a sketch challenge with a fun option. The option for this challenge is to use kitchen items in your design. I usually include the option in my card designs but I have absolutely no kitchen item or kitchen paper in my stash. I did have this handsome paper with fall foods so elected to use it.

I cut the various panels and pieces to configure my interpretation of the sketch. (I tend to add extra layers here and there.) A stamped sentiment on vanilla cardstock die-cut into an oval and adhered with foam tape was added. The inside was lined with vanilla cardstock and stamped with another Thanksgiving sentiment.

The Design Team invites you to play along with our biweekly challenges by visiting the
TSOT529 Blog. We have a new biweekly challenge beginning every Tuesday so there is always a challenge in the works.

Pumpkin-Man

We've been enjoying the fall season at Double Trouble Challenges and Challenge #95 is open through Sunday evening, October 31, 2021. As usual, we have three "Things" for our challenge:

Thing 1 (required): Trouble Maker is asking you to create an Autumn card using cheerful and cute Halloween items.

Thing 2 (optional): Double Dare suggests you link your card to the challenge at Cupcake Inspirations #530. This will give you an additional chance of winning our random draw.

Thing 3 (optional): Twisted Sister hopes you'll find a way to add Washi tape to your project so you can earn another chance of winning our randomly drawn prize. (I added it to the inside of the card.)

After die-cutting the "pumpkin-man" I colored him with markers followed by die-cutting the cat from black cardstock and adding two googly eyes. Onto a white card base, I added the patterned background paper. Using a rectangular die set, I cut two additional panels from patterned paper, adhering them to the card. The pumpkin-man and the cat were added with foam tape along with the sentiment.

The inside of the card was decorated with paper imprinted with spiders and the word "Spooky" cut from a die. To adhere to Twisted Sister's optional challenge, I was given a strip of Washi tape from Trouble Maker. It has a spider web design and was added to the inside edge.

Be sure to visit the challenge blogs for
DTC94 and CI530 to review the guidelines and play along. You could win a prize in the random draw!

Making Memories at Christmas

The Design Team at Color My Heart Color Dare welcomes you to join our biweekly Challenge #465. This challenge will end on Thursday evening, October 21, 2021. This is a Tictactoe challenge so you must select and use three colors in a row. Once you know which three in a row you intend on using, you may also include other colors from the board. Any colors not on the board are not permitted. I initially selected the bottom row - Candy Apple, Harbour, and Evergreen.

As I was selecting my paper, I found I was able to include all of the colors because they coordinate with a new CTMH paper packet, Holly & Ivy. You may, however, use any brand of products as long as you use close color matches. I also used a sketch from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #441. This is a weekly sketch challenge ending on Sunday evening, October 10, 2021.

The patterned paper was matted with red cardstock and adhered to the card base. I die-cut a red oval frame and a vellum oval, inserting the stamped sentiment. The fawn was stamped, colored with Copic markers, and added with foam tape. The gold metallic gems were added. The inside of the card was lined with white cardstock, decorated with patterned paper, and stamped with a Christmas sentiment.

Be sure to visit our Color Dare Challenge Blog #465 for inspiration and to play along. Our biweekly challenges begin every Friday so there is always an active challenge underway. And don't forget to drop by the weekly sketch challenge at the AHSC Blog - you'll be glad you did!

Sweet and Swirly

Thank you for visiting my blog! The biweekly sketch challenge at
Try Stampin' on Tuesday's Challenge #527 runs from Tuesday, October 5, through Saturday, October 16, 2021. The sketch is a required element but we also have an option for you to try, "Script/Text".

I was puzzled about developing the option so used the sketch to inspire my script-y, swirly background. Using a die, I created the background on white cardstock and then brushed on a bit of blue ink. I adhered it to coordinating blue cardstock and then to a white cardstock card base. The sentiment was die-cut from silver glittered cardstock and adhered to a die-cut shadow of the word, "love". The sentiment was added to the card using foam tape. A few small hearts were created with a punch to create the tiny glittered hearts. The inside was decorated with additional hearts.

The Design Team invites you to visit the TSOT527 Blog where you can find additional cards and guidelines. We offer a new biweekly challenge each Tuesday so there is always an active challenge to enjoy.

A Garland of Pumpkins

We are enjoying Autumn at Double Trouble Challenges and you're Invited to a Pumpkin Carving Party. This is Challenge #94, a biweekly challenge running through Sunday evening, October 17, 2021. We usually have three "Things" so here they are:

Thing 1 (required): Trouble Maker wants to see your best shot at creating a Fall card. You will be entered in the Random Drawing for a fabulous prize.

Thing 2 (optional): Double Dare is hoping you'll link your project with our partner at Use Your Stuff Challenge #432. Doing this will give you an additional chance at winning the Random Draw.

Thing 3 (optional): Twisted Sister is inviting you to join her pumpkin carving party by including a pumpkin on your project. This provides another chance at winning our Random Draw. (The pumpkin only needs to be carved with your scissors, a die, a punch, or by machine. Jack O'Lanterns are not required.)

Using a three-piece set of dies, first I cut two layers of cardstock. I colored the vanilla layer using blending brushes for the pumpkins and the red highlights. The top layer was cut from Kraft cardstock and adhered to the colored vanilla layer. Instead of using the third die for the bottom layer, I cut pieces from scraps of cardstock to add more color and interest to my card. Using a vanilla card base, the inside was decorated with a few punched leaves. The sentiment was die-cut and added.

Suggestion: The next time I use these dies, I will probably inlay the pumpkins or raise them with thin foam tape.

We hope to see you at our challenge. There is plenty of inspiration at DTC94 and
UYS432 Blogs. So take a look, check out our guidelines, and join the fun!

Smooth Sailing

The Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #440 is coming to a close soon. With my Internet down this afternoon, I was frantic that it would not be restored in time for the deadline. This challenge began last Monday, September 27, and ends this evening, October 3, 2021.

I enjoy making masculine cards and there are plenty of men in my family who receive my cards for every occasion. Using some old paper and a bit of new, I cut the pieces according to the shapes on the sketch. I stamped the sailboat scene and colored it with Copic markers and adhered each circle with a layer of thin foam tape. The sentiment was stamped and also added using foam tape. The card front was adhered to a white card base and the inside was decorated with nautical images.

Be sure to check back on Monday, October 4, to view
AHSC #441.
