The Hen Party

The sponsor for the June Brown Sugar Challenge #279 is Time for Tea Designs. We were provided with such sweet images. Be sure to visit their blog - you won't be disappointed! Our theme for June is Wedding or Party.

I downloaded and resized two images and placed them side-by-side on the cardstock along with the computer generated words. The images were colored and the die cut streamers were added. The finished panel was trimmed to size and adhered to a panel of glitter cardstock and then to a white card base. The inside was decorated with streamers.

Please visit our Brown Sugar Blog and share your project for the June challenge. You could win a prize! Our challenge runs from June 1, 2018 until July 3, 2018.

Free to Be... Fisherman - Masculine CAS

The only requirement for my card was to use a sketch. I elected to make it a masculine card after receiving this new fishermen die. I used the Freedom die because I think having the time to enjoy a few hours fishing and relaxing is representative of being free.

The sketch is from Try Stampin' on Tuesday Challenge #367. The challenge includes an optional twist to use metallic accents. We'd love to have you play along with us. The challenge begins on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 and runs for two weeks.

After die cutting the image and the word (twice), a panel of cardstock and a panel of patterned paper were layered on the white card base. The sketch included a little "something-something" on the lower right of the image so I also die cut what looks like a gear. I added the metallic element by using silver cardstock for the banner, the three inlaid fish, the sentiment and the "something-something" item. (My husband thinks it looks like a naval mine.) The die cut image was adhered using foam tape for dimension. The silver word die cut was backed with a navy word die cut as a shadow. The inside was decorated with strips of cardstock and paper.

Visit our blog at Try Stampin' on Tuesday and check out the sketch, color and technique challenges along with our Memorial Day Blog Hop.

I Vike You - Masculine

Welcome to my blog! Please feel free to leave a comment about our Try Stampin' on Tuesday Blog Hop. I hope you'll come back again.

I recently found this stamp at a local shop. (There is also a die available.)

The image was stamped, colored and cut into a rectangle with a die. The sentiment was added and the rectangle was backed with foam tape and adhered to the card base. The stick-on metallic squares were added. The inside of the card was lined with a panel of cardstock.

We have all kinds of challenges at Try Stampin' on Tuesday - sketch, color, technique and Tic-Tac-Tuesday. We'd love to see you play along each week.

It's time for Creative Moments Challenge #144. The biweekly challenge begins on Wednesday, May 30, 2018. The theme is "furry animals" and one of my favorite furry animals is a cat.  The image was provided by My Besties Shop, one of our challenge sponsors.

The image was downloaded, resized, printed and colored. It was die cut with a cross-stitched oval. Two panels of coordinating patterned paper were adhered to the card base along with a bow-tied ribbon. The image was adhered using foam tape for dimension. The inside was decorated with leftover scraps.

Here's hoping we'll see you at the Creative Moments blog for Challenge #144!

Yellow Bird's Special Day

Tic-tac-toe challenges can be fun and this one was a great way to use up some scraps. This is my second card for this challenge. Give our challenge a look and play along at the Crafter's Café #197 beginning June 1, 2018. You have until June 14, 2018 to submit your creation. The other card can be viewed HERE.

This TTT challenge has a twist... the center space is a MUST even if you don't select a row that includes it. If you view the TTT grid below, I selected a diagonal direction that includes the paper so I used: black, yellow, patterned paper for my card.

I used a digital image called "Flower Bird" from Bugaboo Stamps. You will find all kinds of fabulous images at the Bugaboo website at reasonable prices.

The image was downloaded, resized, printed and colored. Patterned paper was used for the background. I especially like the butterflies with the coordinating green paper for matting. The paper panels were adhered to a panel of black cardstock, which was adhered to the white card base. The bird image was die cut using a frame die, backed with black cardstock and adhered with foam tape for dimension. The sentiment was also die cut from black cardstock. The inside of the card was decorated with a strip of the butterfly paper and a strip of black cardstock.

Come on by The Crafter's Café and check on our challenges. There are prizes!

I am entering this card into the May monthly challenge at Three Amigos Challenge #14.

African Violets

Challenges can be fun and this one was a great way to use up some scraps. I also elected to make it in an A7 size because I resized the image a bit larger than usual for ease of coloring.

Give this new challenge a look and play along at Double Trouble Challenge #1 beginning today. You have until May 31, 2018 to submit your creation.

You may also choose to join in the tic-tac-toe challenge at the Crafter's Café #197 beginning June 1, 2018. You have until June 14, 2018 to submit your creation. I made two cards for CC challenge and the other card can be viewed HERE.

To keep the focus on the floral image, I used patterned paper that has a water colored look for the yellow and purple backgrounds. I especially liked the yellow cast on the left of the purple paper. The green cardstock was embossed for texture. These were adhered to the white card base. The sentiment was computer generated, matted and adhered with foam tape for height.

The image was downloaded, resized, printed and colored. Then it was die cut and framed with this pretty round die. The image was backed with foam tape and adhered. Pearls were added. The inside of the card was decorated with a strip of matching yellow paper.

Come on by Double Trouble Challenge #1 - there is a prize and Crafter's Café offers prizes, too!

At the urging of a friend (see comments below), I am submitting this card to The Three Amigos May Challenge #14  and The Spring/Summer 2018 Coffee Lover's Challenge.

Never Play Leapfrog with a Unicorn!

The challenge this week at Creative Moments #143 is to create a humorous card, which I elected not to do. I titled the card with humor in mind! I used a digital image provided by one of our sponsors, Polka Doodles Unique Stamps & Papercrafting. The stamp includes two cute unicorn type creatures.

Panels of cardstock were adhered to a card base. The top later was dry embossed for texture. The panel along the top was hand cut to display whimsical clouds and the banners were tucked beneath. The image was downloaded, resized, colored and fussy cut, then adhered using foam tape.

Please join us at our blog and play along by creating a card. Creative Moments Challenge #143 begins on Wednesday, May 16 and runs for two weeks.

Spotted Bluebird

Time for another color challenge at Color My Heart Color Dare! Challenge #293 is to use Sapphire, Canary and silver. If you don't have these exact colors, check your stash and use what you do have.

My CAS card is cut entirely from one die. I cut the whole image from the silver cardstock. Next I cut the bird portion from some Sapphire patterned paper and the flowers from Canary patterned paper. For the bird and flowers I trimmed away the excess paper and adhered them directly to the silver cardstock. Using a soft brush, I added yellow dye ink to the front of the card base using the ink dusting technique. The image was then adhered directly to the card base. The inside of the card was decorated with a scrap image of the bird, left from die cutting the flowers. No sentiment has yet been adhered.

I invite you to join in the challenge fun at Color Dare #293. Our challenge begins on Friday, May 18, 2018 and runs for two weeks. There is also time remaining to join in #292, so check our blog!

Special Day

My granddaughter has a birthday in a few weeks and I will be sending her this cheerful card. This is also my Design Team card for Try Stampin' on Tuesday Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge #3. I hope you'll visit our blog and play along in one of our challenges. We have sketch, technique, color and tic-tac-toe challenges, along with an occasional blog hop. This challenge begins on May 15 and runs for two weeks.

Using the tic-tac-toe grid, I selected the bottom horizontal row: green, outdoors, oval. There is green in the floral paper, the scene is set outdoors and the balloon is oval.

Onto a white card base, two different pink textured cardstock panels were adhered. Onto that is a panel embossed with clouds. The butterfly, scallop trim, the fence and the hillside were die cut. The image was stamped, colored and fussy cut. The sentiment was stamped. All of the elements were assembled, many with foam tape for dimension. The inside has not yet been decorated or stamped.

Yummy!

It's time for Challenge #196 at The Crafter's Café Blog. Our theme is "Creatures". I accepted this cute digital image of "Cupcake Kitty" from one of our sponsors, Knitty Kitty Digis.

The sponsor asked that we add a watermark across the photos.

The challenge begins on May 15, 2018 and lasts two weeks.

The image was downloaded, resized, colored and fussy cut. I also added an extra flower. Onto a card base, a panel of cardstock was adhered. Next an embossed square of cardstock was adhered. The ribbon was added. A large banner was cut from fish patterned paper. It was adhered with foam tape. The image was also adhered with foam tape and the extra flower was tucked behind and adhered. The word "yummy" was die cut and adhered. The inside of the card was decorated with a strip of the same fish patterned paper.

Forever Heart

Who doesn't love to receive a card with hearts? I've had this three-piece die set in my stash for a while and I thought it would work well with Color Dare Challenge #291. I think there are additional possibilities such as adding the word "friend" or maybe "and always" to go along with the forever. I do wish the maker of the dies had a video on ways to use the them but there are some great samples in their store.

I encourage you to visit Challenge #291 at Color My Heart Color Dare. Read how you can become eligible for a prize! If you don't have these exact colors just match up what you have in your stash and play along. Black and white are also permitted.

The paper and cardstock were die cut and then assembled onto a white card base, which is peeking through the unusual shaped holes. The word die is from the same set. A strip of vellum was added behind the word so the word would stand out against the busy background. Three metallic gold gems were added for a little bling.

Drop by the Color Dare blog - there may be time remaining for Challenge #290!
