Retiform Revisited

With the deadline quickly approaching I decided to make a card for the Waffle Flower Challenge (5/11/15 - 5/24/15). Waffle Flower provided a photograph for inspiration with four colors: green, yellow, rust and white.

Some time ago I saw a card someone had made and the technique had interested me. I did an Internet search on "retiform technique" and found two excellent sources: Splitcoast Tutorials and Gina K Designs.

After laying down the grid with sponged color, the card was stamped and generation stamped randomly. Three flower images were stamped on a separate scrap of white cardstock, punched out and adhered to the card with Dimensionals to pop them up. They were brushed with clear Wink of Stella and tiny pearls were added to the centers of the three flowers.

The inside of the card was stamped with several small flowers as well and the card was complete.

Visit the Waffle Flower blog and store for creative ideas, fun challenges and quality products.

  2. Love the background and the colors are nice and bright. I'm going to work on another background paper for another challenge; but not flowers.

  4. I would have named this "Garden Paths"... Diverse shades of green are angled across the background, which remind me of garden paths, and the overlaid grids resemble stones in a pathway too. Your butterflies, luscious deep green leaves, and raised blossoms complete this gorgeous, multidimensional picture!
