Needlework Samplers

In 1988, my husband was quite ill for a few months. During that time, I found needlework was something I could do to pass the time at the hospital. I made these two items during that time.

I especially like samplers such as these and they were designed by Linda Coleman, founder and owner of Jeremiah Junction Designs and Cross Country Stitching magazine.

They were stitched on 14-count Aida with DMC embroidery floss. I later had them framed in my favorite shade of blue-green, which I call spruce, and they hang in my bedroom.

  1. Another wow project!!! Your stitching skills are amazing, countless hours of work. But they turned out beautifully. :)

  2. Wow, from 1988...very nice. You know I had only done one needlepoint project and I just had it in a frame with no glass, and I don't remember what ever happened with it. My Dad did an needle point that was placed in a panel above their Wall TV Cabinet and it was about 3' wide and about 2 1/2' high and a ship in the seas. Another treasure lost because it was sold with the home...wish I had it today.
