Thankful at Easter - CAS

With Easter only a few weeks away, I've been making a few Easter cards here and there for family and close friends. Instead of bunnies, eggs and flowers, I decided to focus on a new stamp I have with starfish. The starfish I used to see on the Florida beaches were all similar in color and size but when I went to Alaska on a cruise, I saw them in all sizes and colors. Our Creator is amazing, so why not use them on an Easter card!

The card is being entered into two challenges:

1. Always Playing with Paper "The Challenge" #63 -

2. Hand Stamped Sentiments Color Challenge #233 -

On white cardstock, the two-step starfish was stamped three times and fussy cut. To achieve two colors for the two-step process, I stamped off with the coral ink for the first step and then used full color for the second step. On another panel of white, the background lines were stamped to symbolize seaweed and the spatter to represent sand. The starfish were fussy cut and backed with foam to pop them up. The sentiment was stamped and matted and slipped underneath the starfish leg. Three yellow toned sequins were added. This entire art piece was adhered to a panel of cardstock and then to the card base. The card base was stamped with a set of lines and the spatter and two Easter sentiments.

For fun challenges visit the challenge blogs at APWP63 and HSS233.
