It's the first Monday in May and that means a new biweekly challenge! Double Trouble Challenge #109 runs through Sunday, May 15, 2022. As is customary, there are three "Things" to the challenge.
Thing 1 (required): Trouble Maker cannot get the song, "Over the Rainbow," out of her head. It keeps playing over and over again. She would like you to create a project that includes a rainbow or rainbow colors, or... a project that features the color pink. That's a great choice! Just complete this one requirement and your entry will be submitted for our random draw.
Thing 2 (optional): Double Dare is introducing a new partner, Colorful Options. Be sure to visit their blog to review the guidelines. If your project qualifies we hope you'll link it to their monthly challenge for May 2022. This will earn you another chance in our random draw.
I am preparing to move 2,000 miles across the country in a few weeks so many of my craft tools and supplies are packed. I borrowed this cute fairy stamp set and die from a team member. I stamped the image, colored it with Copic markers then used the coordinating die to cut it. The front of the card base was dry embossed for texture.
I think we all know the traditional rainbow colors but in my "card world" I think any colors work so I chose colors based on the glitter paper I had on hand. A set of circle dies was used to create the rainbow. A tree-builder punch provided the shape for the clouds. Finally, the elements were arranged and adhered to the card base. The inside of the card was lined with white cardstock and decorated with clouds. Gems were added for the final touch.
There's a new challenge in town! I played along with Can You Handle the Pressure? as well. This challenge always requires the use of an embossing folder plus there is an optional twist. This challenge runs through
We hope you will join us for some fun at the DTC109 Blog and Colorful Options for May. You could be the winner of our random draw!

ReplyDeleteMelanie, what a sweet card! The embossing folder you chose for your background... it looks like winds blowing aloft where the fairy and rainbow are drifting thru the magical ether. Great coloring, too!! -Donna
ReplyDeleteThe sparkle on this card is terrific - and yes, rainbows can be any colours (especially the colours of paper in your stash 😊). The embossed background adds just the right touch to your card.
ReplyDeleteSo sweet Melanie! Love the sparkly rainbow. :)
ReplyDelete💗 this! Fairies are one of my favorite magical creatures. Your wings remind me of the "sparkling wings" from TinkerBell and the Secret of the Wings. Cheers, Makira
