Upcycled Friendship Card

The inspiration for this card came from something we all probably have in our homes - a box of tissues.
I cut a panel from the side of the box for the floral panel and an end piece provided the wavy panel for the die cutting. I also used several sewing machine stitches to decorate the card panels.
Two panels of cardstock were adhered to the card base. The floral panel was added along with a ribbon to cover the fold of the box. The die cut panel is the negative piece backed with white and mounted onto a gray mat, decorated with stitching. The panel was backed with foam tape for dimension. The piece of ribbon was tied into a bow. The inside was lined with white cardstock and trimmed with another sewn strip of paper from the box. I decided to leave the inside unstamped to permit space for a personal note.
This card may not qualify as CAS because of the multiple layers but it was so simple to make that I decided it works as CAS for me. I intended to photograph the tissue box before tearing it apart but did not, so here's what is left of the box. Maybe I can get one more card from the scraps!

  9. Wow, great interpretation of the photo inspiration and stitching...so you got your sewing machine out...you have almost inspired me to pull mine out of the closet...but no you haven't, I'll stick with the dies. And now I have to go out and buy kleenex too. Great idea and beautiful card.
