Valentine - Love You

This DT card will finish my Valentine cards for 2018. I really liked the color scheme for the challenge because there were all kinds of possibilities with it but in the end I went with just one more Valentine.
Please join in at Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge #279. The required colors are Canary, Cranberry and Pacifica with Gold as an option. Black and white are permitted as neutrals. Check your inks, papers and accessories and if you have something close in color you are welcome to submit a card, scrapbook page or other paper project.

Find our blog HERE and have some fun!

The black panel was dry embossed with a diagonal stripe. A Versamark pen was used on the embossed stripes and then heat embossed with clear powder to give some shine and texture to the black background. The black panel was adhered to a white card base and the die cut elements were adhered. A second cranberry heart was adhered over the other using foam tape for dimension along with the tiny sentiment. Gold was an option for this challenge so gold sequins were added. The inside of the card was decorated with a small die cut heart.

It annoys me when my camera does not photograph the true colors but it's probably incorrect lighting coupled with my lack of knowledge.
We look forward to seeing your cards in our challenges at Color Dare! Please give it a try and you may be eligible to win our monthly prize!

  1. Great Valentines card! I would have never thought to use black as the background, however it looks great!

  2. With the layering of the heart it looks like a box of candy...and the contrast using the black background really accentuates these bright colors. Very pretty.

  3. So sweet! The non-traditional colors are perfect for your valentine. Great embossed background too! :)

  4. I also would not have considered using black as a background but it sure highlights the other colours beautifully! Have also had the frustration of colours not photographing correctly (argh... I get it!) "Love" all the hearts on your design.
