Valentine Roses

Here's my first Valentine of 2016! It was inspired by the color challenge at Sunday Stamps #117 called "It's All about Love!" The colors are not named but I interpreted them as Melon Mambo, Blushing Bride, Baked Brown Sugar and Whisper White. Almost all of my cards must be mailed so I try to keep them reasonably low profile as demonstrated by this card.

A panel of Baked Brown Sugar cardstock was adhered to panel of Blushing Bride cardstock then adhered to a card base of Melon Mambo cardstock. On a panel of Whisper White cardstock, the flower images were stamped with Versamark ink and heat embossed using white embossing powder. The embossed panel was sponged with both Melon Mambo ink and Blushing Bride ink and wiped clean with a tissue. I sprinkled additional embossing powder without Versamark while applying heat so that I would have a soft mist over the colors.

The small hearts were stamped on the panel and the ribbon was added. A stamped heart was heat embossed on Melon Mambo cardstock, cut with a punch, backed with Dimensionals and adhered. The inside of the card was lined with a panel of white cardstock stamped with swirls of Melon Mambo and Blushing Bride ink.

Take time to visit the blog and join in the challenge at SSC #117!

  2. Ooooh, I like the idea of heat emboss mist...didn't know it would heat emboss with no VersaMark...interesting and very pretty affect. Also like the very bright white embossed floral designs, heat embossing really pops them out. Great traditional colors for Valentine's Day. Love it.
