Lucky 7 Slot Machine Shaker Card

Double Trouble has reached its 13th challenge! Just for fun, the challenge is being called Lucky 13 and is asking you to submit a project using your lucky number. I don't pay attention to superstitions but I thought of a slot machine when it displays a set of winning numbers. Casinos are noisy, smoky, crowded and full of bright lights and glitz. I used several foil papers to complete the glitzy look. Because of reflections, the acetate and shaker bits were added after the photography was completed.

This card follows a flipped sketch at Try Stampin' on Tuesday Challenge.

         Original Sketch                                                                           Flipped Sketch

On a black card base, a panel of gold foil cardstock and a panel of patterned foil paper were adhered. The three numbers were fussy cut from patterned paper and adhered. Here is where the shaker card is created with foam tape and the shaker bits are added. The panel, typically with clear acetate affixed, is then adhered over the numbers. For photography, I simply set the top foiled piece on top of the numbers without acetate and shaker bits. The card was then finished. The inside was lined with white cardstock and decorated with a strip of the patterned paper. A computer-generated sentiment was added, "May good luck follow you always and catch up with you often."

We'd love to have you join in the challenge fun at Double Trouble Challenge #13. As an option, you may decide to participate with another challenge as well.

  1. Excellent number, definitely a lucky number for anyone that falls upon this. Love all the shine to a true machine at the casino, less the noisy, smoky and crowded.
