Lucky to Have You

When my sister decided to have her DNA tested through we were not surprised by the results in general, but we did learn that we are 37% Irish. Of one thing we are certain, part of our family came from Northern Ireland, which does not recognize St. Patrick's Day with a celebration of green, but rather with the color orange, as a tribute to King William III of Orange, who was a Protestant.
History lesson aside, I always include orange on my St. Pat cards. I decided to use some challenges, including two similar sketches, to make a few cards for family.
A panel of patterned shamrock paper was adhered to the card base of white. On a panel of white cardstock, a diagonal stripe was stamped to look a bit distressed. Two strips of orange patterned paper were adhered. The two shamrocks were die cut and edged with clear glitter glue. The sentiment was stamped and die cut, backed with paper, edged with glitter glue and decorated with four-leaf clovers punched from glitter paper. The sentiment and two shamrocks were backed with foam tape and popped up for dimension. The inside was stamped with "Happy St. Patrick's Day" and decorated with a strip of patterned paper and a punched four-leaf clover.
