Update: Top Five Winner at Halloween Crafts All Year #8!
Welcome to my blog. It's been a long time since I participated in a card challenge. Sometimes life gets in the way and I was unable to get back to my cardmaking until now. As a Design Team member at Double Trouble Challenges, I have been working behind the scenes, although not creating cards for specific challenges.
So here I am - ready to go with Double Trouble Challenge #149, Scrapper's Trick or Treat. This challenge closes on Sunday, October 15, 2023. I am not a celebrant of Halloween but I keep a few supplies in my stash for challenges and I pass out candy to the neighbor children.
All the details of our challenge are on the challenge blog, but to summarize:
Thing 1 (required): Create an original background for your project. I created a mix of colors using watercolor crayons.
.
Thing 2 (optional): Link your project to our partner's challenge. Our partner is "Park Hopping - My Happy Place". I selected the celebration at Walt Disney World, "Not So Scary".
Thing 3 (optional): Decorate your original background for Halloween. Using seasonal paper with images of candy, I also included ephemera - the ghost, a spider, and the sentiment, "Eeek".
I am also entering my card into the following challenges:
Thank you for visiting my blog. I appreciate your comments.
Blessings...
Melanie

ReplyDeleteIt’s awesome to see you back again! Love the background with the watercolor crayons!
ReplyDeleteHappy to see you joining again, and I love that background! I just got a set of water color pencils so I need to get mine out too!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Melanie. These were watercolor crayons, which may be different than the pencils. It was an experiment but now that I have looked at a few tutorials I will be more confident when using them.
DeleteGreat background and your spiderweb is so awesome. Amazing that you did this with watercolour crayons. Thanks for joining us at MMM, Johanna DT
ReplyDeleteMelanie, thank you for participating in our TOB Challenge this month. That ghost would be sufficiently spooky, except that he arrives with so much candy! He's set off beautifully by your wonderful background.
ReplyDeleteXoxo, Fran/DT

Trouble Maker, welcome back to paper crafting... so happy you have found your way back to creating cards, you been missed with your creativity. Love the introduction to crayon coloring... maybe crayons you borrowed from your nephews... and what a wow background. Let it be known, even though you were not in a position to create for awhile, I want you to know how much I appreciated your continual suport and help with challenge ideas, correction of my verbiage in our challenge posts and keeping up with comments to our entrants. But really excited about your return to card making.

Hi again, Melanie! Your card is cute! I don't celebrate Halloween either. I have to dig deep into old stuff to find anything that has an image that can work for challenges! But I don't mind the cute side of giving kids candy and dressing up little ones in sweet costumes. And of course cards!
ReplyDeleteCool card!!! Thanks so much for participating in our HALLOWEEN CRAFTS ALL YEAR ROUND challenge!!! I appreciate that you play along and I enjoy visiting your blog!! Have a happy crafty day!! Deanne at A Little Bit O’ Paper
